The Secret Sauce of Servant Leadership

Although an idea that has been, thankfully, adopted by much of corporate America, servant leadership is a concept that actually originates in Scripture. Jesus is the perfect and ultimate example of servant leadership, and we have ample examples of the way He led and lived from the Bible that we can apply today. One of His most succinct yet significant lessons on servant leadership comes from Matthew 20.

“The first shall be last and the last shall be first.” Have you ever heard that saying? Well, it comes from Matthew chapter 20. It might seem like a simple phrase, but like all of Jesus’ words, it is packed full of truth that can improve our leadership styles as we seek to lead through encouragement and empowerment rather than fear and intimidation.

In my most recent podcast episode, I unpack this chapter along with Jesus’ invaluable wisdom on servant leadership. To learn the secrets of what it means for the first to be last and the last to be first, and how we can apply that to our lives, tune in here:
