Why the Servant Leadership Style is the Future of Successful Workplaces
In our individualistic society, seeking to advance professionally by serving others and working with an outward, rather than inward, interest seems counterintuitive. But the truth is that the traditional top-down leadership style is as ineffective as it is outdated. The sooner companies shift the corporate mindset to leading with a servant-minded approach instead of a “me first” mentality, the more commitment they’ll receive and success they’ll experience.
I recently had the honor of appearing as a guest on the “Connections” podcast hosted by Colleen Houde and Mike Thom. Throughout the interview, I shared my best tips for effective servant leadership, as well as my experience of appearing on the pilot episode of “Undercover Boss” and leading the company Waste Management through its biggest turnaround as its president.
Most importantly, I revealed why the Bible is the best leadership blueprint any professional could ever need. I encourage all working professionals, and leaders especially, to tune into this interview and share it with their colleagues. In less than 30 minutes, I share some of my best tips that helped me thrive in my many leadership positions during my career. Take a listen below!
