Recognizing The Significance of Memorial Day
As we prepare to observe Memorial Day, I’m sure many of you are planning summer travel and backyard barbecues. For many of us, this is a much needed break in our daily schedules. However, I feel it’s important we take time to recognize and express appreciation to the men and women who have selflessly chosen to sacrifice their lives for our country. I am endlessly grateful for the individuals who serve or have served in the United States military (including my father-in-law), and want to recognize it is no small calling.
Thank you to the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice so that the people of our nation can continue to live freely. Thank you to the families and friends of those who serve or have served, for allowing your loved ones to sacrificially give their lives or place their lives at risk to protect the liberties and freedoms of the United States.
May we recognize the magnitude and significance of the individuals that willingly decided to serve in the United States military, and in turn paid the ultimate sacrifice. May we look to them as examples of bravery, courage, selflessness, and loyalty. Please join me this Memorial Day in praying for our soldiers, families, and friends of those that gave their life for our great nation.
