Why Palm Sunday Matters

This week, we commemorate Palm Sunday in our churches across the world. Some sanctuaries will be filled with guests waving palm branches, and maybe even have Jesus entering the church on a donkey as a reenactment of His Triumphant Entry.

For many of us, this day signifies the beginning of the Easter season, and we often gloss right over the importance of this day to start planning for Holy Week celebrations. However, Palm Sunday has deep significance to the story of Jesus Christ that we don’t want to miss.

In a recent podcast episode on Matthew 21, I explained how the Triumphant Entry fulfilled many prophecies and set up Jesus’ last week of ministry on earth. I encourage you to listen and reflect as we prepare our hearts for Palm Sunday.

Join me next week as we look at Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection in honor of Easter!
